Figures are our estimate of the average daytime wait (10 am - 6 pm) across all open rides. They are not an estimate of the number of visitors in the park.

Forecasts are updated every day. For the next 9 days, they include the weather forecast for Plailly (rain, temperature, wind): those days are marked “weather factored in”. Night openings are a different story: see below.

Best times to ride the big coasters

At Parc Astérix, opening time is not the quietest: coaster queues are often longest between 11 am and noon, then shrink later in the day. Here is the wait recorded hour by hour over the last opening days.

Plan your visit around the crowds

Parc Astérix is a theme park in Plailly, about 35 km (22 miles) north of Paris, and about 20 minutes from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport.

It welcomed more than 2.8 million visitors in 2023, about one in seven from abroad, mostly from Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK. Saturdays and French school holidays are the busiest days, when the big coasters often exceed a 1-hour wait.

On weekdays outside school holidays, the average wait can drop below 10 minutes. Picking the right day, then the right hour, lets you ride much more.

Parc Astérix 2026 season

Peur sur le Parc (Halloween) runs until Sunday, November 8, 2026, with night openings until 1 am on some evenings (👻 badge in the forecast). In the evening, haunted houses and the haunted forest can exceed a 90-minute wait, while the coasters empty out.

The park then reopens for Gaulish Christmas, from December 19, 2026 to January 3, 2027.

Opening days may change: check the park's official website before your visit.

How are our forecasts calculated?

A model built on actually observed wait times

We automatically record, every hour, the wait times displayed for the rides at Parc Astérix. Each opening day adds to the database.

Each forecast starts from similar days already observed (Saturday, Sunday or weekday, school holidays or not), with recent days weighing more. It is combined with trends from another French family park with a similar calendar, then adjusted for the weather forecast over the next 9 days.

Our history is still short: accuracy will improve over the seasons as more reference days are recorded.

Understanding our forecasts

Each opening day gets a crowd level based on the expected average wait.

VERY QUIET
< 10 min
Very little waiting expected
QUIET
10 to 14 min
Waits usually limited
BUSY
15 to 19 min
Longer queues
VERY BUSY
20 to 24 min
Expect long waits
EXTREMELY CROWDED
≥ 25 min
Very long waits

Rides tracked in our calculations

We track about forty rides. Only rides shown as open are included in the average. Among them:

Note: a ride temporarily closed at the time of a reading is automatically left out of the average.
